Command Insights is ORBATMag’s section for contributed analysis and commentary, and it is written by people outside our newsroom. We are opening it to anyone with real experience in the arms and defense space who has something worth saying.

We are looking for pieces from current and former military personnel, engineers and program managers, industry professionals, researchers and policy specialists. Strong submissions explain how a weapon, system or program actually works, what a contract or decision means in practice, or what the headlines are missing.

What helps a pitch stand out:

• Firsthand knowledge of the subject, stated up front.
• A clear argument or insight, not a summary of recent news.
• Plain language that a general defense reader can follow.
• Disclosure of any employer or financial interest in the topic.

Contributors must not share classified or export-controlled information. Pitches can be sent to intel@orbatmag.com or through our Submit News page. Tell us who you are, what you want to write about and why you are the right person to write it.
